Welp, we sure have many more kids around now just as the “pro-life” loons wanted. Hope they’re all getting busy accommodating them
It would be interesting to see refugees per capita.
Portugal, for example, is taking a larger share than Spain (almost comparable to Germany, in fact), despite only taking less than half in absolute numbers. Luxembourg is even taking a somewhat larger share then Germany, while France is taking 1/30th that of Czechia, in relative terms.
It’s bizarre to me how we have not learned from 2015 and introduced sensible measures to evenly distribute refugees according to each country’s capabilitles.
We need more of them in Croatia! They are welcome, and there is plenty of work in tourism, especially during summers.
I even met few of them, very polite and humble people!
I know Moldova is not in EU, but they took a fair share compared to their population.
I wonder why, for most countries, data from 3rd column was used (Individual refugees…) while for some others from 4th column (Refugees from Ukraine Registered for Temporary…).
For example, for Romania the map shows 37 832 instead of 90 297. Not much, I know, but over 600k refugees passed our borders and were treated well. Some stayed for some time, then preferred to move to Slavic countries (I suppose they feel the language barrier is lower) or to Western Europe if they have family/friends there. It’s not that they were not welcomed. Even the kids, they were admitted in private schools (English language curricula) or schools with teaching in Ukrainian (only where/if available). I saw reports of Ukrainian refugees with teaching background being employed in Bucharest to create new classes for Ukrainian children.
And for Moldova, data was omitted – it’s 85 497. Per capita, out of the resident population, the number for Moldova is close to Poland’s, with far less support and resources from EU.
Hmmm, I wonder how many the UK has taken in?
Roughly 3 million refugees. Lets say half are willing to keep the war effort going indefinitely. 1.5 million. Lets say they are on average able to donate 10 Euros a day. That’s 15 million Euros a day or 5.5 billion Euros yearly. That’s way more than enough to support a partisan war for decades. Much more than the support Hezbollah receives.
