I would have loved to see the private vs rented escooter casualty ratio, since most private riders seem to know how to respect drivers and the roads, whereas almost every rented scooter local to me is used by 10-18 year olds giving their mates a ride down the middle of the road swerving in and out of traffic.
Though most of us knew this would happen, it was only a matter of time.
9 people killed in an entire year on e-scooters. Compared to about that many per day from cars.
Also stop suggesting that e-scooters are difficult for drivers to see. If you struggle to see them you are dangerous and need your license revoked. An e-scooter is easier to see than a pedestrian, especially at night if the e-scooter has lights.
There’s always going to be an increase when they’re being legalised, because more people are now on the road.
