Technically we are danish today, Dane being the term for the Vikings that came before modern day Denmark. But yes we still identify as danes

As a Dane, I can deny that we still exist.
I used to work in Tivoli, an amusement park. An American couple, by the looks of them I’d say cruise-tourists, came up to me and asked if we have reservations in Denmark. I was confused, so she explained, that “in America we have reservations for native Americans. I was just wondering if you have reservations for vikings here”.
I honestly thought I was on a prank tv-show, so I simply replied “no” and sent them on their way. Stupid questions do exist, folks!
