Saturday, I drove my non LEZ car to Evere, Waze usually gives me a LEZ warning but not for Evere so all is fine. At the A201 there was A LEZ sign. By the time I saw it I had no option but to briefly go into the LEZ, I got of the A201 before the tunnel and turned back. I called police to ask if the was oké or I should be expecting a fine, they told me “probably not if you didn’t saw a police patrol so don’t worry, in the event of a fine just don’t pay and object”. I did not take a daypass with ‘terugwerkende kracht’ because of this but since it was a phone call I have nothing to fall back on.
Anyone who has experiment with such kind of event or this route in Evere specific?

I think you are fine because the cameras that check it are further down the road, 500m beyond the NATO.
They sometimes do checks there but they do it on the bridge pointing down for the people that take the tunnel. So what you did is fine I think. If you want to park there you can park in the Raketstraat (1st right at roundabout) at some business. That is outside lez
While I can not speak for this specific situation, I got a 350 euro fine from LEZ BXL for turning on an intersection that is on the edge of The Flanders & Brussels commune.
So I hope that the other redditors and the police are correct in your case.
