I’m my opinion it’s right he got off. Although the outcome of the whole thing Is terrible, as in the kid dying
It looks like the justice system, for once, got everything right.
* He tried to flee the jurisdiction after stabbing someone to death, and was held on remand until the trial.
* He was found not guilty despite the whole dead scrote thing.
* Modern case law is now established for what is reasonable when defending oneself from the remaining scrotes.
>Counsel said Mr Bento had tried to prevent a crime from being committed and added: “It is a mistake that Irish people would not make because we know the consequences of trying to stop a crime in this city, that you become a victim of crime yourself.”
Sadly this is very true, and came out in the commentary afterwards, “why would be get involved when it wasn’t his bike”. Anyone from Dublin knows you keep to yourself in certain parts of the city. It shouldn’t be that way though.
“Mr Guerin added: “Josh Dunne was to be commended for trying to protect his friends from a lethal, unlawful assault.”
Is this lad for real? His friends ran in and started punching and kicking the 2 deliveroo riders. Then when they defend themselves it’s considered an “unlawful assault” you actually couldn’t make this shit up.
I’ve got involved helping to defend a neighbour- older lady on her own – against attacks from a gang of scrotes – you become a target, fall out with neighbours who son is involved, have endless calls to cops, have to investigate & identify the scrotes yourself & get known as a dickhead in the area BUT you bring the aggro back to the scrotes & show them that their actions have consequences & so far this has worked. It’s the price of having a spine & some values & being a thick cunt.
Delighted for Mr.Bento, seems like a lad just trying to get by. It would be a great shame to lock him up for life.
Makes my blood boil reading this. I’m from Dublin and despise the level of shitbaggery I see when I visit. It’s rampant. Ordinary people getting harassed by these scumbags end up having their lives turned upside down when they confront them. Tragic outcome involving the lad but I have a huge amount of sympathy for the chap, Bento. There’s only so much nonsense you can put up with.
I’m left scratching my head as to why the prosecuting didn’t go for manslaughter. They had a weak case with provocation. It didn’t make sense to push for murder.
Not saying I agree or anything but I think if they’d prosecuted for manslaughter they’d have won.
Likely both would have been beaten to death if he didnt have that knife
Strange people seem to be defending a person who knowingly brought a knife out in public
Was there not a better choice of defensive weapon, baton ? Taser ?
A person who brings a knife with them has every intention of using it
