Mallorca restaurants bring in dress code to curb antisocial tourism | Spain

  1. Thats an attack on the german tourist population on mallorca and we should respond with a special military operation to defend our trashy binge drinking vacation spots.

  2. The linked article does not explain very well what the dress code is. Only noted that you cant go in the restaurant straight from the beach or from the street drinking.

Would it not be far easier to just implement a rule that a person already visibly dizzy from alcohol consumption can be refused service by the discretion of the serving staff?

I mean settling some kind of dress code means that the dudes coming in to drink themselves into oblivion just wear a cheap suit and it is all kosher on-paper, supposedly?

  3. I believe these half naked drunk tourist should go to tourist venues where there are no such rules. They are guests and should go where they are welcome

  4. >The government had proposed a mechanism to gradually reduce this number by eventually buying out places at one- and two-star hotels in the region.

Uhh what? That means theyll buy the actual hotel, right?

  5. Hasn’t this been a thing for years? At least in Palma you’ve been fined heavily for going shirtless outside of the beach and you aren’t allowed to go into a restaurant.
