  1. So if you’re an SF (left-wing supporter) or a more nationalist Right-wing (eurosceptic) you can lose your house and job over it.

  2. Gearoid Murphy is a far right activist. He says occasional things that on the surface seem reasonable – but his agenda is far right.
His pinned tweet is about the great replacement – a far right conspiracy theory.
Don’t get sucked in to his bullshit just because he’s stating the obvious that FF and FG are hopeless.

  3. Given the context I assume he means that the economic consequences of electing a nationalistic populist party into government would result in widespread job loss.

  4. So he says that turning to nationalism and populism may lead to people losing jobs and/or homes, and that that’s a disaster in his view

    That’s not a threat folks, it’s a projected outcome

  5. Leo Varadkar talking about populism is the greatest dose. King of reducing taxes to bribe the electorate, at the expense of improving the country.

  6. Surely he can’t actually believe what he says??? That doesn’t even make sense.

He’s literally saying the government can’t fix it but you definitely shouldn’t vote for anyone else because something something populism.

  7. I get what he’s saying but still kinda fascinating how ‘Nationalism’ had become a pejorative for the likes of FF and FG.

  8. Going by their reaction to Michael D, I don’t think they’re using the word populist by its dictionary definition. As in they think it just means popular, an important part of democracy which they find irritating.

The veiled threat to people’s jobs as a reason to vote for them? Pure scum.

  9. Like if we went full Marxist? The state would confiscate all property and land bur at least the factories and data centres will have free creches in them.

  10. What does he mean, those who on decent incomes who can’t afford to buy, that “they could lose their job as well as their house”?

We don’t have the house you dipshit, so we can’t lose it!

  11. He uses the term “populism” the same way the GOP uses the term “comunism” – ie, pretty much anyone who doesn’t agree with his policies is a “populist”.

  12. For a party who focuses a lot on their image, they don’t do themselves any favours do they? “Think someone else can do our job better? You’re going to lose your job”

  13. People turning huh, no its people who are sick shit of your government policies.. Has he got any proof that people may loose there jobs and why that would be, his reaction after saying that (body language) sais it all, he knows its going to stur shit…
