  1. Imagine having a rough day flipping hamburgers while your boss shouts at you for not working hard enough while earning minimum wage. Then imagine HLN writing a nation-wide article about it.

    Big oof.

  2. Hey! I was in that line (for an hour, and I was one of the first). I ordered the steak and it was borderline raw, barely passed for rare. It was a shit show, even excluding the waiting. I’m laughing my ass off, never expected an article about this.

EDIT: Here’s another one, the Pizza Hut actually ran out of pizza, only drinks and garlic bread was left lmao

    EDIT2: I saw that, OP

Staffing in function of average demand on a day you know upfront you’ll be confronted with the absolute maximum in demand is indeed like the interviewee says

    > “bijzonder slechte management van het horecateam”.

  5. I read this yesterday and I couldn’t believe someone actually had to vent their frustrations by recording a video and sending it to this quality newspaper. And then I couldn’t believe anyone actually cared enough to get mad about this.
I am sorry that you had a bad day at an overpriced amusement park OP. Yes, it is horrible management, no it is not newsworthy.

Last thing that I would like to add is that I once had a student job at another one of the major amusementparks (around ten years ago). I received no form of training on my first day and I had to work at three restaurants in one day. A little bit of jump in the pool and learn to swim. It’s not rocket science and after a while ofcourse you get the hang of it. But I can imagine that those students were under a lot of pressure and if it was their first day (interim just calling for students) add a bunch of whining hungry adults and no clear leadership in the kitchen, these results shouldnt be too surprising.

  6. Recently visited Plopsa with my partner. Half the park was closed because of understaffing. Food was meh for the price we paid, but that was to be expected. All in all a forgettable experience and certainly not worth the long drive to and fro.

  7. PSA: Don’t go to Plopsaland.

There’s plenty of other entertainment for your kids which doesn’t require giving Gert Verhulst all your money, so he can go to St Tropez and make a TV show about it to use as a tax write-off.
