The Office Romance stars set tongues wagging with their flirtatious press tour.
Brett Goldstein has dismissed speculation that he is romantically involved with his Office Romance co-star Jennifer Lopez, leaving fans wondering who the actor might actually be seeing.
The British Ted Lasso star, who was born in Sutton, London, plays Daniel, an awkward lawyer alongside JLo as high-powered airline CEO Jackie in Netflix’s hotly anticipated new rom-com.
As the company finds itself embroiled in a lawsuit brought by a formidable rival, Daniel and Jackie are thrown together in close quarters, yet the firm’s strict zero-tolerance policy on workplace relationships puts a spanner in the works of their blossoming attraction.
Speculation began to swirl during the film’s press tour that the two leads had begun a real-life romance, owing to their undeniable on-screen chemistry, reports the Express.
However, speaking to Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show, the pair moved to quash the rumours by confirming they were not an item.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” Jennifer quipped.
And Brett joked: “If you stand near her, that’s what happens.”
Jennifer has walked down the aisle four times, most recently reigniting her relationship with Hollywood star Ben Affleck. The couple wed in 2022, but parted ways last year.
As for Brett’s romantic life, inquisitive fans may find themselves none the wiser, as, much like his Office Romance alter ego Daniel, he keeps his private affairs firmly out of the public eye. Very little is known about his personal life, but he was previously in a relationship with fellow comedian Beth Rylance.
He even gave her a nod in his acceptance speech at the Emmys when he picked up the award for Ted Lasso, quipping: “I was very, very specifically told I’m not allowed to swear, so this speech is going to be f****** short. Beth, I love you.”
Watch Netflix hits like Beef season 2 for free

Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan. This lets customers watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes the new season of Beef.
Beth herself responded in a since-deleted tweet: “Today is the day that my boyfriend goes to the Emmy’s as a Best Supporting Actor nominee and I am at home on my second load of laundry. Just to confirm, my boyfriend is Kenan Thompson off of SNL.”
The timeline of Brett and Beth’s relationship remains unclear, and it has never been publicly confirmed when the pair went their separate ways. At present, Brett is thought to be unattached. He is unlikely to be married as he has not been seen wearing a wedding ring.
He recently reflected on the notion of soulmates, following his 2025 Apple TV sci-fi romance film All of You, which delves into the theme.
“Do I believe in soulmates? I change my mind,” he revealed to InStyle. “I honestly don’t know. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I’m not sure there’s one person for everyone. I think there’s 50 people for everyone.
“I think in your lifetime there are probably 50 people that you should have met. That doesn’t mean you’ll have sex with, but there’s some karmic connection, over millennia. You know what I mean?”
Office Romance is available to stream on Netflix.
