Probably dropped by the Indians retreating from Galway.
I can accurately date this to on or before July 19th.
Should have held off posting this until 19th July.
It’s a bit fucked up that’s lasted as long as it has
But what does it *mean?*
Marathon bars, opal fruits and jif – the holy grails of lost relics.
Didn’t they do a run of these bars with marathon on the wrapper sometime in the last year or two?
Edit: Looked it up and they brought out a retro edition in 2020. But probably everyone in the thread knows it and I’m the idiot taking a subtle joke literally.
This looks like an original version.

This shows why our obsession with plastics is frightening
This served as a plotline on the BBC drama series Unforgotten recently as a similar wrapper was found on a corpse and they were able to narrow down time of death to when the UK called Snickers Marathons.
I remember my American cousins making fun of us (snickering?😆) cos we called them Marathons!
I found one in my garden last year, date of expiry was 1991, and it’s in better condition than this! Frightening to say the least. Imagine all those plastic bottles laying everywhere
… straight to the Natural History Museum post hast with you!
