At his second wedding today, Peter Phillips was joined by many members of his family—his mom Princess Anne, his sister Zara Tindall, his cousins Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Prince William, and his uncles King Charles and Prince Edward. But noticeably absent was Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew.
Ahead of the wedding, it was reported that Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling did not invite the disgraced royal, or his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, to their nuptials. Peter was a page boy at Andrew and Sarah’s 1986 wedding, and Andrew attended Peter’s first wedding, to Autumn Kelly in 2008.

A friend of the couple told Hello before the wedding, “Peter and Harriet’s wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It’s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both. When and whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had been invited, it was probably not deemed appropriate to invite them. It’s Peter and Harriet’s special day, and clearly their attendance would cause a distraction to the whole day.”
Former Prince Andrew did not join the royal family for Easter Sunday, and has largely stayed out of the public eye since his arrest on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Just last month, Thames Valley Police provided an update on the investigation.
“Misconduct in public office is a crime that can take different forms, making this a complex investigation,” Thames Valley Police Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said. “Our team of very experienced detectives are working meticulously through a significant amount of information that has come in from the public and other sources. We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into all reasonable lines of enquiry, wherever they may lead. We encourage anyone with information to get in touch with us… I understand the high level of interest in this work, but please be patient as we continue to actively progress our investigation.”
Andrew has always denied any allegations against him.
