Police have warned people to steer clear of a Telford hotel ‘for their own safety’ and to ‘avoid legal consequences’.
A number of individuals were said to have attempted to enter the Madeley Court Hotel ‘under the assumption it was abandoned’.
However Telford and Wrekin Police said that was ‘not the case’.

Issuing a warning to potential trespassers, a police spokesperson said: “We are aware of individuals attempting to enter Madeley Court Hotel under the assumption it is abandoned. This is not the case.
“Please be aware that entering without permission, forcing entry or causing damage may result in a criminal conviction.
“For your own safety and to avoid legal consequences do not attempt to gain access or enter the hotel.
“Anyone identified may be subject to enforcement action being taken against them.”
The hotel, in Castlefields Way, was temporarily used to house asylum seekers.
However that came to an end earlier this year.
In April, Telford MP Shaun Davies said he had written to the owners to “discuss next steps for bringing the hotel back into community use”.
