I used to like and use amazon about 10 years ago via .de or .co.uk but every time I go on it now on I flee.
Most specialized stores have so much better online stores now. Amazon.com is a collection of cheap knock off alibaba wish crap. There’s a dozen no name crap dropshippers trying to sell garbage.
If you want a general store use coolblue or bol.com
Absolutely no advantage to using amazon.
How do I bet against them?
I’m personally done with Amazon. I used to be a huge fan and would always defend them. But then they started messing up the shipping. It used to be that 90% of your packages would be sent through BPost and occasionally through another shipping company like UPS or GLS. Now pretty much everything is shipping directly by Amazon.
Their drivers are a hit or miss. Some of them are nice and professional. Others are complete jerks. One time, the dude called me that he’s gonna deliver a package, which is fine, although I hate talking in the phone. But then when I waited for him in front of my house, he didn’t even bother getting out of the car and I had to walk all the way to his car to get my package. Others ring the doorbell multiple times in a row, like there’s a fire or something. They always seem in a massive rush.
Honestly, I was much happier with my BPost deliveries. Occasionall, they do ship through BPost but now it’s mostly 18h-22h, which in itself is a pain in the ass. Od rather they delivered the next day. It’s much too late.
Plus, I don’t like the whole concept of “independent” delivery drivers. Fuck the uberization of work.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I ordered a bunch of hygiene supplie (shower gels, etc.). Cheap shit cause I’m not that fancy. I think it was like 25€ in total. Amazon split the order into FOUR. Each shipped through a different shipping company. Not only is this borderline insane, but the fucking environment? Fuck them.
