Hello r/Sweden, I’m from Belgium and I would like to know if there really was a “Key the SUV” movement in Sweden? And did it really impact SUV sales as claimed in this video?

Not of my knowledge, but there was a “deflate the tires of SUV’s (non-destructively)” campaign less than a month ago.

Never heard about.. was it a swedish “campaign” and how did you hear about? Btw, I dunno how Belgium is but SUV:s isn’t as popular here as it is in the US where it basically killed the market for regular wagons…
No and no.
The only SUV related campaign I remember hearing of is “Asfaltsdjungelns indianer”, but that was 15 years ago, and they deflated tires, not keying the cars.
She *might* be referring to this: https://gatorna.info/threads/sabba-en-suv-2887/ But it got minimal media attention and the “collapsed SUV sales in a single year” claim is completely wrong.
I never heard of key the SUV before.
Keying cars has never really been a thing in Sweden as it has been in the states.
I think one of the reasons is that the word keyes translates really bad in swedish.
“Nyckla en bil” just doesn’t sound right.
no..
