Thank you guys for the help! Homemade Salmiakki Vodka 🥰

  1. The correct label should be “salmiakkikossu” or “salmari”, but apart from that it looks great! Remember to put it in the freezer for a couple of hours before serving, for maximum experience

  2. Next time don’t use a soda bottle. The plastic doesn’t hold alcohol. It won’t leak but you will be drinking plastic. Good luck.

  3. Next time do the same thing from the Fisherman’s friend candies. Two, maybe three small bags of them per Kossu and you’re good. We call it “Fisu”, which is a slang term for a fish, and it’s a lot better than “salmari” imho, not as sweet and the menthol is refreshing.

Salmari is a bit sweet to my liking. We did down disproportionate amounts of them back in the day though, but these days I would definitely go for a Fisu over a Salmari.

If you’re really looking to go wild, here’s an interesting combination:

    – one salmari

    – one white russian (milk, Kahlua, vodka)

Pour the shot into the white russian and it’s bloody good. The only downside is that one shot of salmari for a tall glass of a white Russian is a little too little of that salmiakki taste. And two shots is a bit too much, it turns too sweet.

We solved that, too. Order 2 white russians, 3 shots of salmari and an empty pint. Pour the drinks into the pint and what you get is a perfect mix of the two and we called “Tupla-Tripla”. Best ordered around 3am … *facepalm*

  4. I’m imagining something similar to Jagermeister, but with way more of a spine shiver. I have 4 bags of Fazer Tyrkisk Peber on the way, so l will see. Good Luck!
