German Time phrases with prepositions
The time expressions in German usally take the dative prepositions in German. The preposition “an” is mostly used for parts of the day (except for “die Nacht”) and days of the week.
Days and days of the week – Am
Use the ordinal numbers (first, second,, etc.) and and the preposition am, to say when something happens in a month, week, or a day.
Am Montag (am Abend, am Morgen) esse ich oft Pizza.
Am Wochenende fliege ich nach Paris.
