Thousands of uniformed and specialist teams will sweep routes and venues, while access points and air corridors face strict controls to limit risks and disruptions.
Turkey plans to deploy around 70,000 security personnel to guard participants and ensure security during the NATO summit, which will be held in Ankara on July 7-8.
According to TRT Haber, this figure includes 55,000 police officers and gendarmes.

Security Organization and Units Involved
To secure the event, various units are involved: from counterterrorism, intelligence and cybersecurity to public safety, police special forces, and also units of radiological, chemical, biological, and nuclear protection (RCBN). They are joined by traffic police and gendarmerie units.
Tightened controls will be introduced at the entrances to Ankara. Also expected are enhanced security measures at the airports, near the locations where delegations are hosted, on the routes, and near the summit venues. On the roads between the airports and the sites of the meeting, gendarmerie units will be on patrol.
It is expected that during the summit the leaders of all NATO member countries will participate, as well as the heads of nine guest countries invited as guests.
The plane of the U.S. President Donald Trump and the aircraft of other participants are expected to arrive at Etimesgut Airport.
Also in Ankara during the summit, “red zones” will operate to increase security.
Overall, it is expected that security and coordination of the security forces will ensure the event’s uninterrupted operation and create conditions for the safety of all participants and NATO delegations.
