England fast bowler Ollie Robinson is a doubt for the second Test against the Black Caps due to a knee injury.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Saturday that the pace bowler, who took seven wickets including five in the first innings to guide England to a 115-run win at Lord’s against New Zealand last week, experienced soreness after a training session on Friday. He is now set to undergo a precautionary scan.
Uncapped seamer Henry Crocombe has been called up as cover for Robinson, ahead of the second Test which commences on Wednesday at The Oval.
Robinson missing out would be a major blow for the Sussex seamer who has only just returned to the England fold after being overlooked since 2024.

He made a huge impact in his comeback Test, taking three wickets in his opening over to turn the match in England’s favour.
Robinson dismissed Devon Conway, Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra in the space of four balls to leave New Zealand 2-3 in their first innings, and the Black Caps were unable to force their way back into the match after that point.
However, they may now be set to face an England side without Robinson if his knee issue proves to be a serious one.
Robinson has played 22 Tests for England since making his debut in 2021, and the 32-year-old appeared to be back to his very best prior to his latest injury setback.
Robinson’s fitness has previously been called into question, but he delivered on the biggest stage at Lord’s last week, and England will hope he can continue to deliver the goods during the rest of the summer.
Further changes to the squad see England without regular captain Ben Stokes and bowler Gus Atkinson.
Both players have been left out of second Test squad following an investigation into an incident at a London nightclub.
Jofra Archer and Jordan Cox have been named as their replacements in the squad.
