A high-level defense meeting set the stage for new unmanned systems partnerships, promising shared projects and faster delivery of critical anti-drone and maritime capabilities.
Ukraine and Latvia agreed to expand cooperation in the field of unmanned systems, including strike drones, ground robotic complexes, and maritime unmanned vehicles, marking a new phase of interaction in defense technologies.
Information about the agreements appeared on the page of Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine held a meeting with Latvia’s Minister of Defense, Raivis Melnais, during which the parties agreed on new directions of cooperation in unmanned systems and defense technologies.
Fedorov congratulated the Latvian colleague on his appointment and thanked Latvia for its steadfast support for Ukraine. He emphasized that the country remains one of the key partners and a leader in the drone capabilities coalition.
The sides discussed further steps for cooperation in the field of technologies to counter aerial threats, as well as the development of joint projects under the Drone Deal initiative.

Among the practical agreements are the supply of Latvian-made counter-drone systems, as well as unmanned systems, including strike drones, ground robotic complexes, and maritime unmanned vehicles.
The sides also discussed further support for the PURL mechanism, which facilitates the procurement of critically important weaponry for Ukraine, and the development of the Test in Ukraine initiative, which allows testing new technologies under modern warfare conditions.
In conclusion, Fedorov thanked Latvia for its leadership and willingness to jointly develop technologies that bolster the security of both states.
