OXFORD, Iowa (KCRG) – A Georgia man is facing first-degree theft and forgery charges in Iowa after authorities said he forged a check for more than $14,000.
A criminal complaint shows 24-year-old Keduse‑Kumea Morgan of Lawrenceville, Georgia, mobile deposited a check for $14,404.55 from The Oxford Sale Barn on December 23, 2025, around 12:52 am.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said the Oxford Sale Barn did not write the check and did not know who Morgan was. It said Morgan did not have permission to write the check.
The complaint went on to say the check was determined to have been intercepted and rewritten from a transaction made by the Oxford Sale Barn.
The Funds deposited by Morgan came from the First Trust and Savings Bank in Oxford.
Morgan was booked in the Johnson County Jail on Friday.
Court documents show a warrant for his arrest was issued on April 24th.
Court documents also showed the Johnson County Attorney reached out to federal officials because Morgan showed to be acquiring and building a firearm.
