At night time? Is that not *exactly* the peak time for pubs and nightclubs?
And a very big part of the reason people have pulled back on going out later is because it’s so hard to get home at night time.
So the vintners now want the taxpayer to subsidise the bands and djs they put on.
This after their years long fight to screw offies to force people back into pubs. Which hasnt worked.
All the while continously increasing the price of pints.
Is it just me or are large sectors of irish business with powerful lobbyists now getting some sort of taxpayer handout? Property developers, landlords via HAP, now this with vintners.
How about expanding culture night to be a quarterly event. Its always a success every year and opens people up to their local area.
Prices of alcohol is extortionate and nightlife is tripe compared to central Europe.
Why are they surprised no one wants to go out?
Not to mention if you do go out you can’t get a Taxi home due to a shortage
I fucking hate the cunts that run this country.
They simply will not do their jobs and then spend our money on shite like this.
There seems to be a lot of half empty pubs/clubs/restaurants around the country only able to open 4 days a week due to staff shortages, maybe we should let the free market economy run for a year until this all corrects itself
And yet again, the government is throwing money at a temporary solution rather than fixing a prpblem
Urban sprawl and one off housing means people need to travel to town and city centres. Deal with the real issue!
More money thrown to pubs etc? After the last 2 years? Most pubs made more money closed than they did when open.
