Why is this country so damn beautiful? Also, it’s…uhh…pretty expensive. Can you guys please do something about that?

  1. If we were not as expensive, everyone would go here. This would lead to our beautiful country filled up with people. People are not as beautiful as our country, so it would be ugly. This leads to a vicious never ending cycle.

Therefore we made sure to be expensive instead so that we never get into the “ugly human vs beautiful nature” cycle.

  2. Cheaper → more tourists → more trash → no more beautiful for you.

Did that sound a bit ~~Swiss~~arrogant? Woops.

  3. It is as cheap as ever to travel to Norway! When I lived there the exchange rate was 1 swissfranc = 6 NOK. Now it’s 1 CHF = 10 NOK. Everything is 40% cheaper than 10 years ago. It’s insane.

  4. Salaries are high. Cost goes to the customer.

Norway as a culture treats everyone equally. This (more or less) extends to everyone receiving a livable and good salary. @

I prefer things remain this way.

  5. It’s expensive here because we largely believe that everyone should have equal opportunity and equal rights. Which means having public health care, proper social care, and proper wages to people working.

Rather than pleasing foreigners who want a cheap vacation, I would very much like to keep the quality of life we largely have.

  6. **slaps side of Fjord** “She ain’t expensive. I’ll throw in free tuition, healthcare, and heck how bout a free national pension? Hell, I can toss in unlimited school safety and you’ve got yourself a hell of a deal on this bad boy”

  7. I hope we ban cruise ships and charter planes in Norway. It is more beautiful without mass tourism.

I would love to walk down the main street in Oslo, but it is littered with souvenir shops and superficial restaurants, so I have to hide in the backalleys
