There was no shortage of drama and entertainment on an unforgettable weekend of action in the All-Ireland SFC.
The last two unbeaten records in the 2026 Championship fell as Ulster champions Armagh and Leinster champions Westmeath lost to Louth and Galway respectively.
While the Tribesmen were fancied to defeat Mark McHugh’s side, the Wee County were huge underdogs against their neighbours with Sam Mulroy’s last-gasp effort falling through the hands of Ethan Rafferty and into the net.
That puts Louth and Galway into the quarter-finals and they were joined by Cork, who stunned Donegal in Ballybofey on Saturday, and Tyrone after Niall Morgan’s late two-pointer helped them past Mayo in Omagh .
The four defeated teams from Round 2A will face the Round 2B winners in round three for the last remaining slots in the quarter-finals.
Here’s how Monday’s draw will proceed.
The draw will be subject in the first instance to the avoidance of repeat Provincial
Final pairings and, where possible, repeat pairings from Round 1 and the
following pairings cannot occur: Donegal v Kerry, Armagh v Monaghan,
Westmeath v Dublin and Mayo v Monaghan.
A separate draw will be held to determine which team has home venue.
Pot 1: Donegal, Armagh, Westmeath, Mayo
Pot 2: Monaghan, Kerry, Meath, Dublin
The draw will be live in RTÉ Radio 1 as as part of Morning Ireland, after the news, at 8.30 am and will also feature the draw for the Tailteann Cup semi-final.
It is also subject to the avoidance of repeat pairings so Offaly cannot face Down again.
Pot 1: Offaly, Down
Pot 2: Wicklow, Fermanagh
The Tailteann Cup semi-finals and the All-Ireland SFC round three games will take place next weekend, June 20/21 and venues, dates and times will be confirmed by the CCCC later on Monday.
