Imabari, Kawasaki Heavy and Namura aim to build 3 to 5 ships a year
An LNG tanker operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines. Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Namura Shipbuilding aim to resume domestic construction of such carriers around 2035.
TOKYO — Three Japanese shipbuilders will jointly resume domestic construction of liquefied natural gas carriers around 2035, aiming to build three to five vessels a year with the possible help of South Korean technologies, Nikkei has learned.
