Is this Strange New Worlds? Paramount+ doesn’t launch here or in the UK until tomorrow. Are you in the US?
I like Discovery well enough and am a bit iffy on Picard, but every episode of Strange New Worlds has been good so far.
Is SNW worth sticking with ? I watched first episode and it didn’t seem great. Everytime they called the captain Chris and spoke like teenagers I died a little inside. I find Discovery a dull Mary sue cry fest and Picard is essentially cultural vandalism at this point so maybe the Nu Trek isn’t for me
Its grand if you don’t take it too seriously. The odd sprinkle of humor they add in goes a long way for forgiving the usual new-trek stuff.
Lol. Not surprised the bad guy is Irish. It is just US imperialism in space now.
Like, they try make it extra woke, but it somehow ends up feeling less diverse than even the original series. Because everyone’s identity *is* their character now. Except the squeaky clean white person in charge. Rather than having actual individuality or difference.
I’m sure they’ll end up fighting a wide array of foreign accents. All of them having crazy ideas that they need the calm and stiff-upper-lipped white people to explain their flaws.
The Expanse is 1000 times better.
