Amazon is coming to Belgium. Will they be as good as Amazon.nl?

  1. No idea. I will keep not buying from them. I don’t like the company. I’d much rather pay a bit extra to get it from somewhere else. It’s not that hard.

  2. Having bought a few things from Amazon.fr (because I got coupons from work), I can say that both bol and coolblue are much easier to deal with.

  3. It’s going to be a shit experience by shit people for shit products.

I don’t need ‘same/next day’ delivery on the shit I buy online. It can wait.

/won’t be buying from Amazon. They’re a shit company.

  4. Just buy that shit in the store around the corner…
You get to be outside, you meet some people and you don’t need to make a post like this then because you are part of the problem

  5. I usually go out of my way to avoid having to order from Amazon. Heck I even pay more for a product to avoid having to spend money on that company.

  6. I don’t know and don’t plan on finding out. Fuck that company and the huge increase of plane traffic it’s going to cause over my head

  7. Is the picture relevant to the question?

I know the web-retailers often use too large boxes for small stuff, but there is a very logical explanation for it as I read on a reddit post.

People who have to pack stuff get a basket of things and instructions to put thing in a box. Not just any box, but a specific size. Let’s say they have 10 sizes to choose from.

People inputting items in the system have to list dimensions, if there is an error, the item needs to be corrected manually in the system, which only a supervisor can do. If they use a wrong box size than indicated in the system(even if the box was too large), the sorting band refused the box after it scans the label and it gets returned to the packaging department. =loss of time=bad kpi

If the item is too large for the box indicated, ofcourse they have no choice to get a supervisor, as you can never fit it in a small box. If the item is too small, normally you should inform the supervisor, but it also means a loss of time. The size of the item would get corrected for future shipments ofcourse. But the way with the least hassle is to just use the box as indicated which is too large. It saves time and thus money.

  8. I only order from amazon if the product is either nowhere else available or at least 20% cheaper.

The last thing we need to do is support Bezos and his horrible work ethics and market dominance. Buy at [bol.com](https://bol.com) instead or any other benelux webshop instead.

  9. It’s just that they have their own distribution center & delivery system set up in Belgium. You still have to order through all the variant sites of our neighbors (fr/nl/de – sadly not co.uk).

The main difference is that you will now have free shipping options to BE, Amazon Prime will become available and that BPost no longer will deliver the packages, but amazon drivers themselves (imho probably worse than BPost or PostNL, but we’ll see).
