Hello,

I am a beginner sourdough baker and I am looking for strong bread flour in or around Luxembourg or with shipping to Luxembourg available.

So far I have not found any good options locally and opted to buy online (see links below).

A good indicator for the “strength” of flour is the protein content.

For wheat flour, everything above 14.0% should suit my requirements.

Any fellow baker here knows a good alternative?

My current (online) favorites:

[Manitoba](https://shop.drax-muehle.de/produkte/1011/bio) from Drax Mühle (Germany) – 3,3€/kg

[Star](https://store.mulinopadano.it/en/product/farina-type-00-star/#characteristics06a4-e278) from Mulino Padano (Italy) – 1,9€/kg but high shipping cost

  1. Hello, I do not really believe in need of strong flour. I personally bake with a mix of kleinbettingen basic flour the one you can get everywhere and a bio whole wheat. You only need to play with hydration to find the sweet spot for the mix that you use.

  2. I’ve been baking sourdough since the pandemic, and the Klengbettinger Millen 55 flour makes fantastic bread. Mix it with some spelt flour or whole grain, and it’s even better…
