Running from June 16 to June 18 at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), the fourth edition of the International Space Summit is expected to be the largest in the event’s history.
Organisers anticipate more than 4,000 participants representing 550 organisations from 50 countries, highlighting the growing importance of international cooperation in space exploration, technology development, and commercial innovation.

Co-hosted by CONTEC Space Group and Daejeon Metropolitan City, the International Space Summit has rapidly established itself as one of Asia’s most significant space industry gatherings.

This year’s programme includes keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, networking events, and a large exhibition featuring leading organisations from across the international space ecosystem.

Building on the success of last year’s summit, which attracted more than 3,500 professionals from 41 countries, ISS 2026 aims to further expand its international reach and influence.
Why Daejeon is hosting the International Space Summit
The choice of Daejeon as host city reflects its growing status as the centre of South Korea’s space industry.
Often referred to as the nation’s science and technology capital, Daejeon is home to several of the country’s most important aerospace and research institutions.
These include the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).
The city also plays a central role in South Korea’s national space strategy. Within the country’s three-part space industry framework, Daejeon serves as the primary hub for research, development, and workforce training, complementing satellite activities in Gyeongnam and launch vehicle operations in Goheung.
