Business is there to make money, at the moment they cant reduce costs in energy or materials but they can reduce cost in labour. We first saw it with zero hour contracts.
Unfortunately for retail, it’s a awfully lot easier to search and find what you want over the internet and a app than it is to drive into town and traipse through shops.
The real question is what is going to become of the high street and when are we going to see automated cars reduce the labour in delivering.
And still over 1 million active job vacancies in the UK because of the whopping labour shortage that nobody is reporting on.
Great! They are shit jobs. We have record low unemployment. They found better jobs is all…
Who cares, retail staff have been declining since e-commerce took off. These are dead end jobs, the sooner the industry of fast fashion collapses the better i say.
Oh well they can’t blame it all on Brexit.
Losing their retail jobs is a great opportunity, now they can get better, higher paying jobs!
They’ll be able to afford avocado toast, fancy coffee, Netflix and a house!!
