Carbondale Area’s Science and Technology Club was honored by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on April 22, Earth Day, for winning the Pull Tab Contest. Carbondale Area collected more than 100 pounds of pull tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton. Eighth grade students led the effort by collecting more than 75 pounds of tabs to win the school contest. Members of the Science and Technology Club were invited onto the field prior to the game, and Dr. Samantha Masco, club adviser, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
