North Korean media has reported that a major bus crash in the countryside injured more than 20 passengers earlier this year, a rare acknowledgement of an accident in a country with dangerously outdated roads.
According to Korean Central Television (KCTV) on Wednesday, a passenger bus traveling through Kangwon Province veered off the road on the night of April 1, leaving its passengers in “critical condition.”
The report did not mention any fatalities or provide detailed information on the accident, but it stated that over 20 passengers were seriously injured and transported to Kangwon Provincial General Hospital.
