If any visitor is wondering, here is the process of crossing from the occupied TNRC to Cyprus. Takes a few seconds and you can do it with an EU ID as well.

TRNC*

Anyway if you are in Nicosia i recommend going there to buy groceries and stuff, its pretty cheap

Ex:1kg of orange costs 0.5 euros or 1kg banana costs 1 euro

There is also some drinks they only have in Turkey like the canned lipton sour cherry one
So like visiting Crimea. I don’t think that it’s moral to do it
I thought it Was illegal to cross the border
It’s not TNRC. The only people who call it that are Turkey. Nothing against the people living their lives in the northern side. Its just not internationally recognised as that.
And in two days anyways someone will post asking how it works 🤣
I don’t do this, I simply swim from the edge to the shore every time I want to visit my occupied property in the north. When I get out of the water, I put on a thicker handlebar moustache and red trunks to mix in easier with the occupiers.
I’m confused. In the title you say **from** the TRNC **to** Cyprus. Did you mean the opposite?
huh, occupied? my ass…
I think you can only use EU card if you’re Cypriot. I tried to use Spanish EU ID & they told me not valid & needed to show passport.
Where is this checkpoint? I crossed the ‘border’ in Nicosia in the middle of the old town. It’s easy enough, but it’s an odd experience. You walk from the Greek and Turkish checkpoints and you pass through a kind of ‘no-man’s land’ where the buildings have been abandoned since 1974. Even being in the Turkish part of the old town feels like stepping back into the 70s.
When my father visited in the 80s, he wasn’t allowed to go to the north because he has a Greek Cypriot surname (even though he only had an Australian passport). I had no problems however in 2016.
I also went to see Kyrenia, but my family in Cyprus insisted that I don’t go alone, but hired a Greek taxi driver to take me there and back. To be honest, I found this a bit annoying because the taxi driver wanted to keep the trip as short as possible so he kept hurrying me along. I would have rather explored on my own, but I still had a good experience.
Sincerely thank you for making this post from the bottom of my heart
From “OCCUPIED CYPRUS” to “FREE CYPRUS” . Fix the title .
Can you cross with a US Passport if you’ve landed on the Turkish side? I’ve heard you are not allowed to if you land in Ercan but I did cross once when I was a teenager to Ayia Napa.
Nobody asked but what happened to that girl outside that was lying on the ground? Why is she laying there?
