Ukraine & Moldova must have a priority since they need and deserve it more.
Pro-Russia Serbia & Pro-Turkey Albania & North Macedonia should go to hell. We don’t need more pro-regime satellites in EU. Hungary was enough.
They can be fuming but it’s all North Macedonia’s fault. They are showing that they do not have the will to do reforms. They just except to be let in with lies and bad attitude. This is not what EU is about.
I wanted to chime in and say that Bulgaria today agreed on a vote in the parliament tomorrow for the proposal for Macedonia.
The most defining things are:
1. Bulgarians are to be signed into Macedonia’s constitution. It’s not much to ask. Greece had them change their name. All bulgarians want is their rights protected.
2. Bulgaria is in no way obliged to recognize the macedonian language. They won’t, BUT (and this is the good part) the EU can and will (most likely) and that’s what matters.
Honestly, Macedonia should really think this through. This is THE BEST offer they will get from the EU and Bulgaria.
After all, it’s not the EU that wants to join Macedonia, it’s Macedonia that wants in the EU. They said they did enough for Bulgaria, but they haven’t done anything as bulgarian rights there still aren’t protected 5 years after the contract was signed.
Note how I’m saying Macedonia as a show of respect. Macedonians don’t call it North Macedonia and hate it that they have to now.
