Good morning/afternoon!
Hi there, first post here, i’ll introduce myself
\—————————————————SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED————————————————————–
I’m a belgian citizen, I’ve lived here all my life but I’m the more I watch the news here in Belgium, the
more and more I lose hope for my future and the futre of my kids and their kids. Tbh, not only my kids
but just worried for every next generation to come here in Belgium. Tax rates are crazy. The media is
out of control. People are out of control. Politics is an actual shit show here and trying to save money
here? Not gonna happen unless u’re working as a student, then u’re not gonna get taxed on your
paycheck. And a whole lot of other things that are just outrageous.
\—————————————————SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED————————————————————–
I have a few questions
My first one being:
Is the information on [this site](https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Austria) actually true?
These are probably averages based on a lot of references and recources that could be wrong and
right. But I’m trying to compare finances with both countries.
Second one being is what is the average income if I may ask.
My current research (litteraly just one google search) implies that
“On average, Austrians earn around 52,000 EUR gross per year or 2,876 EUR monthly after taxes.
The most typical annual salary in Austria is 47,812 EUR before tax.”
On the topic of taxes, I was also wondering if [these tax brackets](https://taxsummaries.pwc.com/austria/individual/taxes-on-personal-income) are indeed correct. If not, could someone provide me with the right link or correct info? Thank you in advance!
How is life over there?
Are poeple majority of the time actually happy?
If people have free time, what do they spend it on?
What is your favorite type of place to go to when you have said free time.
How is the education system?
Do people adjust to each other?
How is the hospitality?
These are a lot of question, I know. Thank you for answering to some or all of these. Enjoy your day/night

Yes, the info is pretty accurate.

It is, but still the average values are not too distorted. You can “work” with the data.

As far as I can tell, that may well be the case.

The tax brackets are absolutely correct.

The data overall from numbeo looks good. However, the salary information are dogshit/highly skewed at best.
Look at this instead:

not sure what they are referring to, but this is definitely not “average” [according to the austrian bureau of statistics](https://www.statistik.at/en/statistics/population-and-society/income-and-living-conditions/annual-personal-income)
52k should be the average *household* income, which includes families where two (or more) people are working.
47k would be the average *full time employment* salary, so this only accounts for people who are working 38,5 or 40h per week, 12 months a year. many people however only have part time jobs, thus the yearly average gross salary is more like 30k
