Crude oil prices have increased by more than one dollar per barrel amid speculation over the impact of a fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran on global oil supply.
Reuters reported on Sunday night, June 21, that international benchmark crude rose to $81.66 per barrel by 22:06 GMT, marking an increase of $1.09, or 1.35 percent.
During trading, prices had even reached as high as $82.30 per barrel.
Prices had declined last week after several oil tankers were able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Analysts say the energy market remains highly sensitive to political and security developments in the Middle East.
