Markets used to/still offer opportunities to set up low overhead businesses selling things for cheaper/that you may not get on the high st.
But most of them sell utter shit. Especially when not considering food.
We have one in our local village, and there has been a big push to “save our local market” and to “use it or lose it”.
The market is only on Thursdays, 9am till 4pm (and that’s if most of the traders haven’t already fucked off by 2:30pm).
I want to support local, but at least make it possible for me to do so.
I used to leave in a village next to borehamwood. The market is neither good nor convenient as the high street has limited parking and is heavy with car traffic.

It’s really sad.
