Execution threat for Shamima Begum as ‘ISIS bride’ to stand trial

  1. Goodness, I feel so awful for her. At 15 I, and most of my friends, would often get into all sorts of mischief – drinking, smoking, graffiti, executing gays, acts of terrorism – the usual. We didn’t mean no harm.

At the age it’s really hard to tell the difference between Sunday afternoon boredom induced trouble and going accross the world to join an evil and repehensible organisation founded almost entirely to kill, rape and enslave people.

  2. Se should be punished for her actions.
However this should be a proportional punishment. From all accounts both for and against her, she was not involved in actual terrorist attacks and did not kill anyone.

I personally belive that she should be made to serve her time within a British prison. Ideally within a solitary confinement area, or a special prison for those that have been radicalised. They should undergo deradicalisation and studies should be done to understand fully how this occurred in the first place.

  3. Proooooooobably shouldn’t have gone to join a death cult that had recorded videos of multiple beheadings at the point she joined. Also maybe should have shown remorse form the start, not only once her baby died and she lost her citizenship.

  4. Considering her rather limited grasp on Middle Eastern politics thus far, her claim Rovaja will reintroduce capital punishment on her behalf, can safely be ignored. While somewhat mean spirited towards the Kurds, it’s probably best regarded as just a fantastical tale to garner sympathy in the UK. While I can somewhat sympathize, I’m not sure that approach will work.

  5. Everyone knows we allowed a bunch of others back? Instead the gov used her to pass dodgy laws and shit. She went to the press and is an easy one to hate.

  6. What pisses me off about those who think this girl is some darling little victim is that they will ignore the hundreds of boys who are stolen from their homes at a younger age than Begum decided to fly off round the world. Boko Haram takes boys as young as seven and brutalises them into child soldiers. How much sympathy do those poor kids get?! Hollow laugh – those are boys: who gives a toss about them compared to a girl who had all the information to hand about the nature of who she flew thousands of miles to be with! SHE gets all the sympathy, not children force-marched from school or home after seeing all adult men murdered in front of them.

  7. Zero sympathy. She was 15 when she decided. When I was 15 and knew another 15 year old that made a stupid decision I had no sympathy then either. She knew what she was doing. Fuck her.

  8. She should be punished for her actions no doubt, but it should be a proportional punishment. As a terrorist who committed treason for joining a death cult she should…oh wait….,erm nevermind.

  9. I looked into my box of fucks and unfortunately its empty, so I have no fucks left to give!

You made the decision to go to Syria, you can fucking stay there.

  10. Almost like joining a well known terrorist organisation wasn’t the best idea.

The apologists in this thread are delusional. There’s a difference between being groomed by strangers online and flying to join an established terrorist organisation.

  11. Only on reddit can you find so many people totally aghast at the idea that a terrorist should face the consequences of their actions

  12. Friendly reminder she would’ve been happy for one of her comrades to blow up a school, a hospital, a sports ground.

    Fuck her

  13. Every thread on her has apologists and infantilisers coming out of the woodwork, acting like she was a baby who had no clue what she was doing – in fact, scrap that, she didn’t do anything, everything was done to her and she was just an unwitting and oblivious pawn in somebody else’s hands.

Fact is, she had joined a terrorist organisation out of her own will, absconded out of her own will, stayed with them out of her own will and for years. Panic and throwing a hissy fit only kicked in once she realised ISIS got rammed into the ground and she’s not going to have the life of privilege with them she hoped for. That’s when her previous, Western life she previously rejected, became attractive again – and why she wants to come back.

She made her own decision. She never said she was sorry, she never rejected ISIS, never apologised for her previous mistakes, never repented, never offered to make up for her mistakes or to counteract the damage that extremists had done in UK – now, when she has the insider knowledge (that perhaps would’ve been a good start: to offer her knowledge and skills to combat radicalisation in UK **if** she were ever to be allowed back in and come back).

None of that ever happened. It’s just a demanding attitude, absolute sense of complete entitlement from someone who’s desperate to get back to the life she willingly rejected based around the values she willingly set on fire herself.

All those acting like she was clueless, naive, ignorant and unaware are getting played and tricked like actual babies. She’s tugging at your heartstrings to get what she wants: a handbook case of emotional manipulation and psychopathic behaviour. Anyone with a modicum of an idea about this sees it for what it is, clear as a day.
