Enterprise AI infrastructure firm TrueFoundry has acquired machine learning operations (MLOps) player Seldon AI to provide a cloud-agnostic control plane for large language models and autonomous agents, SDxCentral can reveal.
Financial details were not disclosed. The deal will, however, see TrueFoundry operate as a gateway and control plane above model servers like Seldon’s flagship Core offering, creating a consolidated independent alternative native AI tooling bundled with hyperscale platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Azure.
TrueFoundry’s Gateway plane will essentially handle the stateless intelligence layer for areas like prompt routing, agent gateway tool auditing, and API key management, while Seldon’s integrated component then handles managing the actual execution of heavy open-source large language models (LLMs) or custom traditional ML models inside Kubernetes.

Founded in 2014 by Alex Housley, the British-based Seldon counts backers including AlbionVC, Bright Pixel, and Cambridge Innovation Capital, among others. Its customer base spans sectors where real-time inference and strict data governance are non-negotiable, such as financial institutions, healthcare providers, and retailers.
While it initially focused on machine learning deployment tooling, it has since iterated upon a cloud-agnostic foundation from inference to agentic AI workloads. Seldon’s platform allows users to orchestrate model components as Kubernetes microservices, letting them deploy locally or at enterprise scale while ensuring every byte of data is observable.
That Kubernetes-native foundation makes it a natural fit for TrueFoundry, which layers its AI Gateway on top to handle the agentic tier, routing prompts or governing API access to give joint customers a single, end-to-end platform for running both traditional ML and autonomous AI workloads in production.
The San Francisco, California-based firm claims its AI Gateway product already processes more than one trillion tokens per day. With Seldon’s addition, the company envisions its enhanced offering becoming “the command center for enterprise AI.”
