  1. Interesting wish her the best. However, i’m a big fan of Ulf Kristersson and hope to see him lead Sweden one day

  2. Great to see that she’s wearing folk costume, and not letting it become a symbol for the right-wing.

That being said, she will be in office for approximately ten months.

  3. Let see how long she stay as prime minister.
Of the MP who voted, 174 said no, 117 said yes, 54 put down their votes and 1 was not there.
If they can’t get a budget through, the government will not be for long.

  4. Why is all of Europe turning implicitly nationalistic?

All these picutres of leading politicians in traditional costumes or clothing evoking traditional costumes are a form of, first slivers of nationalism. And you can observe it across many European countries.

I don’t think that will end well in the long run.

  5. > The 54-year-old, who took over as leader of the Social Democrats earlier this month, reached a deal with the Left Party late on Tuesday to raise pensions in exchange for its backing in Wednesday’s vote in parliament.

    > She had earlier received the support of the Social Democrats’ coalition partner the Greens, as well as the Centre Party.

    > Despite being a nation that has long championed gender equality, Sweden has never had a woman as prime minister.

    > Andersson called it “a special day”, coming 100 years after Sweden allowed female suffrage.

  6. When you rush to left click the title and whisper: “Please be former beach volley baaaal..” image loads “oh they are re-shooting Bonanza”

  7. For the whole “breaking the glass ceiling thing” wouldn’t it have been better to have been through an election and forming new coalition after that instead of pm resigning.

  8. I have no idea if this is the case but usually, when someone is represented to the public with stuff that cannot be chosen/earned (gender, born in X, born during Y, etc) I have a bad feeling about their actual skills.
