There is little profit in British farming. It’s all about owning the land. Do you honestly believe the Tories will give a fuck?
Sure they will court the retirees from the SE in their quaint rose covered cottages but the people who work with the land and live in rural communities? That’s so far beneath them they don’t even seem them as potential voters.
So this fella’s Brexit was to enable him to shoot gulls, badgers and foxes while getting rid of pesky immigrants so that he can get UK citizens off benefits, while still allowing immigrants in to milk his cows and tag his beef.
This is Brexit.
>No wonder the “I-told-you-so”, “Brexit-is-a-failure” narrative is gaining ground.
Its not a ‘narrative’, its objective reality.
> But in No10 there seems to be neither a plan to get people off benefits (or out of the public sector?)
So this guy wants the government to cut teacher amd nurse numbers to free up more labour for rural pub bartenders and cow milkers?
