MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs convened in Downtown Memphis to make connections and grow Thursday morning at the 2026 Small Business Expo.
This is the fourth annual event hosted by the Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis (EDGE).
The free convention aims to provide local small business owners the opportunity to gather, build relationships, and gain resources needed to grow and succeed—such as EDGE’s Small Business Loan Program.

Mayor Paul Young delivered the welcome address Thursday and debuted a new marketing campaign, dubbed “Entrepreneurship City.”
“Entrepreneurship City is more than a campaign, it’s a commitment to the builders, the dreamers, and the doers who make Memphis move,” Mayor Young said. “In this city, big things start small, and they don’t just survive, they scale.”
EDGE also introduced a “Culture Corner” at this year’s Small Business Expo.
The Culture Corner featured performances and showcases from local artists, designers, photographers, and other creatives.
