Noma has partnered with API platform provider Kong to integrate AI runtime security directly into Kong’s AI Gateway, giving enterprises greater visibility and policy enforcement as they deploy autonomous AI agents across production environments.
The partnership combines Kong’s AI traffic management and governance capabilities with Noma’s runtime security platform, allowing organizations to monitor and secure AI interactions as agents access data, call tools, interact with APIs and execute business workflows.
As enterprises expand the use of agentic AI, security teams are increasingly focused on protecting AI systems beyond the model itself. Unlike traditional AI applications, autonomous agents continuously interact with external systems, creating new risks related to unauthorized tool usage, data exposure and policy violations.
“Kong controls the AI traffic path. Noma secures the agent behavior happening on that path,” the companies said in announcing the partnership.
The integrated platform is designed to provide real-time visibility into prompts, model responses, tool calls, Model Context Protocol (MCP) activity and API traffic while applying consistent security policies across AI services routed through Kong AI Gateway.
Noma said the integration addresses a growing challenge for organizations deploying AI at scale, where governance and security often exist in separate systems that can create operational blind spots and increase the risk of shadow AI deployments.
The combined offering centers on three capabilities. Kong provides centralized API management, observability and AI governance, while Noma delivers runtime protection that monitors autonomous agent behavior and detects potential security threats as they occur. The platform also includes fine-grained access controls designed to limit AI agents, tools and MCP servers to authorized actions while maintaining audit trails for compliance purposes.
