Far-right thinks that Russia is the “protector of white christianity/conservatism against the globohomo” or some other /pol/ talking point or something like that, while the far-left thinks Russia is fighting against NATO imperialism, or is in full “both sides bad” mode thanks to them consuming copious amounts of Russian propaganda that has exactly the goal of cultivating such sentiments.
Somehow the far-left doesn’t see an issue with the fact that Russia is literally a right-wing plutocratic kleptocracy engaging in an imperialist war that could hardly be a more clear justification for the continued existence of NATO. And while the far-right no doubt loves the violence towards LGBT people and domestic violence and such, Russia isn’t exactly a model for an ideal conservative society by most other indicators.
I absolutely do not understand the left. nostalgia for the illusions of 1916-21?
