SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The SC Department of Environmental Services is holding a public hearing on Thursday on a proposal for NorthMark Strategies to add natural gas turbines to its data center development.
The hearing is on a draft air permit on the proposal to add 11 natural gas turbines to the data center.
The project originally got an air permit to generate 48 megawatts of power. The new turbines would generate more than 450 megawatts.
An info session at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium will begin at 5:30 p.m. Then a public hearing will then continue at 6:45 p.m.
