Berlin students honored with CABE leadership awards | News

The students were nominated by their school principals for demonstrating strong leadership qualities both in and out of the classroom.

According to Berlin Public Schools Superintendent Brian J. Benigni, students selected for the award showed a willingness to take on challenges, make difficult decisions and work well with others. The award also recognizes students who show concern for others, commit to projects, understand issues clearly and honor their commitments.

The CABE Student Leadership Awards program recognizes students from across Connecticut who serve as positive examples in their schools and communities.

School officials said the students earned the recognition through their leadership, teamwork and dedication.

Benigni said the district is proud of the students and their accomplishments.

The recognition highlights the important role student leaders play in helping create a positive school environment and encouraging others to succeed.

The awards celebrate students who demonstrate character, responsibility and a commitment to serving their schools and communities.

Berlin Public Schools officials congratulated Lavender, Welch, Grant and Meagher on earning the honor.
