While the Italian championship has always been a guarantee of excitement in recent years, the lack of elevation gain on Saturday made for a tightly contested race. Lidl-Trek had Milan on the team, so any attackers were kept in check all the way to the finish.
Riders like Alberto Dainese (Soudal Quick-Step) and Matteo Moschetti (Pinarello-Q36.5) were hoping that Lidl-Trek’s dominance would give them a free pass to pull off a sprint upset, but Milan wouldn’t let it get that far. He outpaced 2026 sensation Tommaso Dati.

Women Compete for Championship Jerseys at National Championships
In Austria, too, the race was still being held against the clock, with a men’s race also on the schedule. Felix Großschartner secured yet another national title for UAE Emirates-XRG and put himself in contention for a possible Tour de France selection. In the women’s race, Cristina Schweinberger won for Fenix-Premier Tech.
