🇧🇬 Bulgaria: Dara to be Part of Global Campaign to Promote Bulgaria

Dara, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, is set to feature as part of a global campaign to promote Bulgaria.

The winner of the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is to be part of a campaign led by the Ministry of Tourism to promote Bulgaria across the globe. Dara, who took victory in Vienna with “Bangaranga”, will be part of a campaign featuring artists, athletes, scientists and young talents promoting their country.

In the campaign, Dara will discuss her hometown of Varna and how the city shaped her. She will discuss sites such as the Varna Chalcolithic Necropolis, Aladzha Monastery, the Roman Baths and more. She explains that:

“My favorite subject in school was history. It’s important to me that the message to the audience is personal. When a person talks about a place that they really felt, then it reaches people much more strongly,”

As part of a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Ilin Dimitrov, the Eurovision-winning singer was also presented with a gift, a statuette with a rose.

Bulgaria was the winner of the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. The song that Dara performed in Vienna was called “Bangaranga”. It was written and composed by Anne Judith Wik, Cristian Tarcea, Darina Yotova (Dara), Dimitris Kontopoulos.

The result brings Bulgaria its first victory in the Eurovision Song Contest. DARA is also the first artist since Salvador Sobral in 2017 to win both the public and jury votes. Prior to this, the country’s best result was second place, achieved by Kristian Kostov in 2017. Bulgaria emerged as a dark horse winner, that climbed rapidly in the betting odds after the second rehearsal.
