OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An Omaha man the Justice Department says was the mastermind behind a plot to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House is set to appear in court Monday.
Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, was arrested by FBI Omaha on June 14 following a raid on a church in Western, Nebraska.

Federal court records indicate Alvarez is not a U.S. citizen. Days after his arrest, Homeland Security said in an update that Alvarez overstayed his visa in 2001, and was granted DACA status in 2014.
He is scheduled to appear in federal court in Lincoln at 11 a.m.
Alvarez was booked on federal charges of conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S. and conspiracy to commit murder.
If convicted of the murder conspiracy charge, Alvarez faces a possible life sentence and a $250,000 fine; should he be released, he would be required to be under supervision for five years. If convicted of conspiring against the United States, he faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison followed by three years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
