LONGi Solar Europe, a solar technology company, has partnered with FARIA RENEWABLES through a PV module supply agreement for two utility-scale solar plants in Greece. The supply covers more than 125,000 Hi-MO9 modules for the 45.5 MW Athamas project in Almyros and the 36 MW Mykonos project in Farsala, both based in Thessaly. LONGi’s Back Contact technology will be used across the installations, with Hi-MO9 modules operating on HPBC 2.0. Upon completion, Athamas is projected to produce 80,000 MWh of electricity each year, supply 16,000 households, and remove 50,000 tons of CO2 emissions. Archaeologists have discovered prehistoric and Byzantine-period burial monuments during the development of Athamas. The related excavation, documentation, and conservation work is being handled under archaeological supervision as the project moves ahead through scientific protocols.
