How about threatening to sanction everybody who votes for breaking the NIP? Seize their personal assets in the EU? Be it ministers, secretaries, or MPs?
Give them the hard Brexit that they seem to be craving. See how they like the realities of that.
I have to admit, part of me wants the EU to close waters to UK vessels. It would do severe damage to Ireland in the short term, but the Brits need to understand that they can’t play fuck-about with NI.
Economically a trade war would be one sided, however, it could either cripple Johnson politically, him being weak and presiding over a downturn would hurt him. At the same time, it could turn the focus on making the EU a bogeyman, when if we wait out Johnson, a new government in Westminster wouldn’t rely on Brexiteers, and would be more amiable in discussions over the long term relationship between EU UK as well as the future of NI.
